“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”
ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
I am Anita Fisher. My work in this field began as a personal journey 23 years ago when my adult son was diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illness. After my husband and I were educated about mental illness through the NAMI Family to Family course, I recognized this would be a lifelong family journey.
My continuing education about mental illness developed into a passion to provide hope for other families, and input to the system of care from the perspective of the family member.
In 2007 I resigned my position in the banking industry and began working at NAMI San Diego (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
